3D & 4D Ultrasound

Today, we got to see little baby Jackson! It was so neat to see how much he has grown in 7 weeks. He's a perfect combination of his mommy and daddy! We love him so much and can't wait to give him lots of kisses!

Thanksgiving 2009...24 Weeks Pregnant!

Baby Registry!

Last Saturday Charlie and I registered at Babies R Us and Pottery Barn Kids. We started at Babies R Us at about 11:00am after getting the H1N1 shot. We went down every eisle and scanned at least one of everything (or it seemed like we did). There are so many things we need, from burp cloths to nipple shields. There are tons of products out there that I didn't even know existed. We made sure Jackson was registered for the cutest things from baby blue pacifiers to a Red, Black and Gray "Georgia Bulldog" stroller. He will be representing the Red and Black early on! After about 2 hours in Babies R Us we headed to Northpoint Mall to register at Pottery Barn Kids. When we got there we were totally exhausted, but excited to see what they had to offer. They have the sweetest little boy things! We registered for hooded bath towels, crib bedding, stroller blankets, diaper bag, glider rocker, etc. Mostly fun stuff! What a fun day! Charlie was great help and did an awesome job scanning all the bar codes! Now, we just wait until he gets here! Our registry is posted on www.potterybarnkids.com & www.babiesrus.com

IT'S A BOY!!!

Today we went in for our 16th week doctors appointment. After we went back into the room we asked the nurse if we were going to get an ultrasound today. She said, "No". We were so upset of the thought of having to wait another 3 weeks before we could find out the sex. So, after Dr. Glander came into the room Charlie begged her for an ultrasound. She went and checked the schedule and said she could fit us in. Yay! We were going to find out today!

It didn't take Charlie long to realize what he was looking at on the screen...everything he has ever wanted (and me too of course)...A Little Baby Boy! We are so excited and can't wait to start planning for a Boy! WOW! I cry just thinking about the excitment and joy we are going to have raising our baby. A little boy for Charlie to play catch with and coach little league and of course he will be a mama's boy. :) We love him already and can't wait to meet him on March 18th.

He measured 6" long and weighs 5 oz.

15 Weeks!

According to www.babycenter.com: "Your growing baby now measures about 4 inches long, crown to rump, and weighs in at about 2 1/2 ounces (about the size of an apple). She's busy moving amniotic fluid through her nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in her lungs begin to develop. Her legs are growing longer than her arms now, and she can move all of her joints and limbs. Although her eyelids are still fused shut, she can sense light. If you shine a flashlight at your tummy, for instance, she's likely to move away from the beam. There's not much for your baby to taste at this point, but she is forming taste buds."

Tomorrow (Thursday, September, 24th) I will be 15 weeks pregnant! The baby is getting much bigger and we are now able to feel him/her at times in my tummy, usually after I eat and I have to be laying down on my back. It's too early to tell if I am feeling his head, butt, or leg. Such a neat feeling!!!

Nausea has finally taken a backseat and I am feeling much better these days. It only creeps back up when it's time to eat. Thank goodness for the Second Trimester...and for the occasional Zofran!!!

We are excited about our 16 week appointment (Thursday, October 1st @ 8:50am)! Hopefully, the doctor will be able to determine the sex! What a great birthday present that would be! And, I can't wait to go shopping for either Blue or Pink things!!!

13 Weeks!

Our Baby is the size of a Fig!!!

Today, I got to see my baby for the 3rd time!!! I went in for the OB work up and the doctor did an external ultrasound. Yay for external ultrasounds! I saw the baby's heart beat and saw him jump around. Dr. Glander said we have a very busy little one. She said everything looked great and we are right on track for a healthy pregnancy. We are 10 weeks/ 5 days and the baby is the size of a fig! Our due date is March 18th, 2010!!!

2nd Ultrasound!

Monday, we went for our 2nd ultrasound and got wonderful news! Our baby has a heartbeat of 158 beats/minute and now is the size of a blueberry. Charlie recorded the heartbeat onto my phone and we now have it to listen to everytime we want a reminder of how our little baby is doing. So, neat! Our next appointment is Aug. 25th to meet with our doctor and to go over all the paperwork needed. Please keep Baby Mentzer in your prayers! Today, our baby is 7 weeks/ 2 days. Our new Due Date is March 21st, 2010!!!

1st Ultrasound!

Today, we went for our first doctors appointment at 7:30am. The nurse said everything looked great and my blood levels (HCG and Progesterone) indicated a healthy pregnancy. Charlie asked her if there was anyway they could squeeze us in to get an ultrasound. After the ultrasound tech got in, she took us back first! It didn't take but a second to see our little baby and his/her heart beating 108 beats/minute. I started crying and Charlie was sqeezing my hand. It was the most amazing experience I have ever been through! What a little miracle! Our baby is 5 weeks/ 6 days old. We go back for another ultrasound next Monday to make sure his/her heart beat is faster and he/she has doubled in size. Can't wait to watch our little baby grow!
